The Hague Historical Museum

Strategy, communication, research

‘African servants at the Haagse Hof' was an exhibition in the Historical Museum of The Hague, aimed at reaching bicultural Dutch people and encouraging them to visit the exhibition and one or more of the side events. The video on this page shows Dutch-Surinamese singer Kenny B during a visit to the museum. TransCity asked Kenny B to give a personal response to the exhibition.

In the run-up to the exhibition, TransCity also organized a focus group with Afro-Dutch people. With these learnings in mind, TransCity wrote the marketing strategy for appealing to bicultural Dutch people.

Dreamers Inc. and TransCity are also active for other cultural institutions in the field of diversity and audience acquisition. For example, we worked for Wereldmuseum Rotterdam, set up focus groups for the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum, and we did workshops for, among others, EYE Filmmuseum, IFFR (International Film Festival Rotterdam) and the broad art and culture sector in Amsterdam.
